Adele Carter, Cello and Chamber Music

    Cellist Adele Carter, a native of Greenville, South Carolina earned her Bachelor of Music at the Cleveland Institute of Music and Master of Music at the University of Southern California, where she also served as a teaching assistant.  While in Los Angeles she performed with Opera Pacific in Orange County, California. 

    Awarded a graduate assistantship to continue her studies at the University of Maryland, Adele moved to the Washington area in 2002 and completed her Doctorate of Music in 2006.  During that time, Adele performed with the Richmond and Alexandria Symphonies, the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, and the Concert Artists of Baltimore in addition to the Dramón String Quartet, of which she is a founding member.  She was also on faculty at Frederick Community College, and taught children in the
    D.C. Youth Orchestra Program. 

    Adele has attended numerous music festivals including the Aspen Music Festival, the Pacific Music Festival of Japan and the National Repertory Orchestra, where she was a featured soloist.  Her principal teachers include Alan Harris, Ronald Leonard, Evelyn Elsing, David Hardy, and Peter Wiley.  Upon moving to Boston in June of 2007, Adele joined the NSM faculty as a cello and chamber music instructor, and the faculty of Bridgewater State College. She continues to maintain an active solo and chamber music schedule.
