Group Classes for Instruments / Voice

Suzuki Violin, Piano, and Cello
The New School of Music offers comprehensive Suzuki method instruction in violin, piano, and cello. Students and parents attend weekly private lessons and some may take group classes in addition. The Suzuki program provides parents and children with an opportunity to share the joy of music while learning an instrument. A cooperative venture of child, teacher, and parent, the Suzuki approach to musical training is both a method and a philosophy of instruction. Shinichi Suzuki, the eminent Japanese violin pedagogue, felt that music could be learned in the same way we learn to speak. Emphasis is placed on the acquisition of musical skills through carefully prepared steps involving listening, imitation, and repetition. The parent will closely supervise each practice session and is expected to attend each lesson and group class.

All Suzuki Group Classes are $18/hour and will be scheduled by the instructor. See private Suzuki instruction rates.
