If you’re interested in taking private lessons, call our office at 617-492-8105 or email us. Our School Manager will discuss options and schedules with you, and set up an initial trial lesson with an appropriate teacher. If you decide that it is a good match, then you should register for the remainder of the term.

SUZUKI METHOD

Suzuki Violin, Piano, and Cello
The New School of Music offers comprehensive Suzuki method instruction in violin, piano, and cello. Students and parents attend weekly private lessons, with optional group classes and parent education classes. The Suzuki program provides parents and children with an opportunity to share the joy of music while learning an instrument. A cooperative venture of child, teacher and parent, the Suzuki approach to musical training is both a method and a philosophy of instruction. Shinichi Suzuki, the eminent Japanese violin pedagogue, felt that music could be learned in the same way we learn to speak. Emphasis is placed on the acquisition of musical skills through carefully prepared steps involving listening, imitation, and repetition.

New Group Classes starting for the Fall:

Suzuki Violin Group Class for Pre-Twinklers
Tuesdays, every other week
Fee $120, for 8 classes
Instructor, Sally Martin

Suzuki Violin Group Class for Books 1 & 2s
Tuesdays, every other week
Fee $120, for 8 classes
Instructor, Sally Martin

Group classes are a highly effective supplement to private lessons, and are proven to greatly enrich a child's study of music within the Suzuki curriculum. Group class students must be enrolled in weekly private lessons with any of our Suzuki instructors before enrolling in group classes.
