Programs for Preschool through Middle School Ages

Ants in the Pants Yoga and Dance for Kids, ages 4-7

Chamber & Jazz Ensembles, early intermediate & up
Chamber Music and Jazz Ensembles
Participating in a small ensembles teaches students how to
interact in a group in an intimate setting, and improves listening skills
and musicality. It’s also fun to make music with
others! The NSM staff will form ensembles based on instrumentation,
ability, and age. Faculty will schedule coachings according to the
needs of the ensemble. At least two years previous instrument study required.
Call NSM if you are interested in forming a chamber music group or jazz ensemble. All instruments and levels are welcome.
July 2008 through June 2009 Ensemble Rates:
Per person, based on suggested 12
week terms. (Summer term length is flexible.)

Ants in the Pants Yoga
& Dance for Kids™
Incorporating beginning yoga with cretive movement and pre-ballet. Explore spatial awareness, tempo, directions,
observation, listening & leadership skills, movement, song, fundamentals of
dance, yoga postures and even spelling. Tons of Fun! (This is a drop-off class.)
Thursdays 4:00-4:50 pm for ages 4-7

Tuition: $117 (7 weeks)
Introduction to
Sight-Singing, for ages 8-11
Susan Trout
Students will learn the
basics
of breath
support for singing, focusing on sound/ projecting, pitch matching and
ear training. Simple choral songs will be
learned, memorized, and sung in a group and as solos. Written
musical notation
will be introduced.
Vocal range will be
discussed and explored. Ear training
exercises will focus on matching pitches, identifying intervals and
developing
the ability to sing in simple harmonies.
Mondays
6:15-7:00 pm 15-week term begins Sept. 22, 2008

Tuition: $230 for a full term (pro-rated for late enrollments)
