The Didgeridoo: Entering the Dreamtime Friday, March 9th, 7-8:30pm Fee: $30, pre-register required - click here to register online or call the NSM office at 617-492-8105 Facilitator: Daniel Orlansky In this short workshop, students will be introduced to the fundamental techniques of the didgeridoo which include producing the basic drone, manipulations of the fundamental note, and taking the first steps towards circular breathing. Plastic "starter" didgeridoos will be provided. All ages and abilities are welcome. More information here.
An Introduction to the Accordion Saturday, April 21st, 1-2pm Fee: $25, pre-register required - click here to register online or call the NSM office at 617-492-8105 Facilitator: Emilian Badea An introductory workshop for all ages who are interested in learning more about the accordion through demonstration, discussion and a chance to play; instruments provided. The workshop is led by Emilian Badea, a graduate of the Romanian Music Academy who then went on to receive both his Masters in Music and Doctorate of Music Arts as a Dean's scholar from Boston University. The Harp - A Hands-on Workshop Saturday, May 12, 10-11am Fee: $25, pre-register required - click here to register online or call the NSM office at 617-492-8105 Facilitator: Mary Jane Rupert Join us for a hands-on introduction to the harp, a perfect Mother's day weekend activity! Participants will be able to sit-down at a harp, learn a basic song and discuss all things Harp with facilitator Mary Jane Rupert. All ages welcome, instrument provided. More information here.
